Daily Schedule
farm chores & play 7:30am-8:30am
Our doors are unlocked and families arrive! The first hour of our day together is outdoor play time. Children are also invited to do their farm chores which include: feeding our piggies, and rabbits, collecting eggs, watering the vegetable, and flower gardens, weeding, and doing a daily plant check. When the weather is very cold we shorten the time outside and offer the option to play indoors.
cooking in the farm kitchen 9:30am
We provide healthy vegetarian snacks each morning! Often we have kid-made smoothies, and homemade sourdough bread (we love to toast it and offer a variety of topping options).
Every Thursday we make individual sourdough loaves (or other baked goods) in the farm kitchen, which the kids get to take home (a favorite part of our week).
Children learn to wash their own dishes, wipe down their snack spot, and tidy.
circle time lessons & project 10:00am
After a morning of choice time children are excited for our daily gathering around the circle! Circle time includes our weekly letter study, calendar, songs/dances, story, yoga, and show & share!
Project time is always different, and typically goes along with our monthly theme. We email out a newsletter each month so families know what our project will be about!
choice time 11:30am
Children are allowed to finish up project at their own pace, and then head out into the school for choice time. Children can explore the many options on our shelves that relate to our monthly theme, enjoy art activities, play in our play rooms, read stories or relax in the quiet room, or have one on one time with their teacher!
sack lunch 12:00pm
Lunches are sent from home daily. During lunch we listen to a Sparkle Story and discuss the lesson in the story together.
afternoon art & barnyard play, or rest 12:30pm
After finishing lunch kids enjoy more gross motor play in the barnyard! On cold days they may choose to enjoy an indoor art opportunity.
tea time in the vegetable garden 2:00pm
We will gather for an afternoon tea snack in the vegetable garden to share our favorite part of the day (or daily practice of gratitude). When the weather is cold we offer the option to have tea indoors. This will ease us into the next transition of getting ready to go home.
goodbyes 2:30pm
Children are promptly picked up from the garden area (weather permitting) at 2:30pm, after they have had their snack.
**If your child is still napping they will be laid to rest on their own schedule. We do offer rest to all the school children at 12:30pm after they have eaten their lunch. We have comfy cots, blankets, and pillows for each child. Special accommodations can be made for children under 12 months of age. Children may bring a stuffed toy from home to be used during their nap time.
